Lorin D'Costa scores 12/13 in simul!

On Thursday, IM Lorin D’Costa played a simultaneous exhibition against thirteen members and guests of Hendon Chess Club, in aid of his non-profit organisation She Plays To Win, which aims to promote chess among women and girls.

The last time we had a simul at the club was May 2022. They’re always great events, and this one didn’t disappoint! Lorin creates a really special atmosphere, interacting with participants and discussing the games afterwards. It was very pleasing to see several people new to the club among the participants and spectators!

Of the thirteen games played, Lorin won twelve and lost just one, to Anthony Bolchover. Anthony has been kind enough to share his game with us, which you can find below.

Many thanks to Lorin for giving the simul, congratulations to Anthony on his victory, and thanks to everyone who took part!

Several people told us how much they enjoyed the event, and expressed an interest in similar events in the future, so we shall have to bear that in mind!
