Gautam Jain leads with one round to go

On Thursday, Gautam Jain defeated Sanne de Boer to retain his perfect record; he still leads the Club Championship with 5/5. The only person still able to catch him is Elliott Macneil, who beat Alex Funk with Black to move into clear second with 4½/5.

Of the six players on 3/4 last week, only Aviraj Bhaduri and Saniru Atulugamage won this week, so they are in joint third on 4/5, though they can at best hope to match Gautam’s score.

Once again, all games were very hard-fought, with just a single draw out of the 20 games played.

The final round next week will decide the tournament! We look forward to seeing you there.
