David Amior is the Club Champion!

David Amior won in the final round to take clear first place in the Club Championship with 5/6. Congratulations to David on retaining his title and winning this tournament for the fourth time!
Congratulations also to Ilya Vorozhtsov, who won the David Jones trophy for the highest-placed player rated below 1675 ECF, scoring 4/6.
There were three players on 4/5 in action in the final round: David Amior, Armaan Nilim and Alex Funk. David defeated Armaan in their individual encounter, while Alex lost to Gianmaria Gonzini.
Gianmaria and Elliott Macneil were the two players on 3½/5 who won (Chris Rogal and Ilya Vorozhtsov only drew and Andreas Bohnacker lost to Elliott), so they took the runners-up places with 4½/6.

Our 2024–25 season is almost over. There will be a FIDE Rapid tournament on Thursday 24th July, then the Club AGM on 31st July, and finally the FIDE Blitz on 7th August before we break for the summer.
