One is Jonathan Rubeck, whose solid and thoughtful play usually puts him in contention in these situations.
The other is Armaan Nilim, one of the club’s young rising stars. He’s had an outstanding season, including drawing with a GM in the Middlesex League!
Armaan may be hard to stop, but I see that Jonathan has cancelled his Round 5 bye. He clearly wants to stay in for all the action!
Another four players are hovering one half-point behind them, on 2½ points. So Round 4 might really shake things up!
