Club Championship blown wide open in round 5!

Friday 15 July, 2022

The Club Championship was blown wide open in the penultimate round last night, as David Amior defeated the leader Salvatore Pepe with the Black pieces!

Going into next Thursday’s sixth and final round, the tournament is led by David, Harry Croasdale and JC Sartenaer on 4/5. With Harry taking a bye next week, it seems virtually certain that David and JC will play each other for the trophy!

If either player wins, they will be the champion; however, if that game is drawn, there will probably be a big tie for first place, which has not happened for a number of years.
