We’re delighted to let everyone know that our first in-person club night since March 2020 will take place this Thursday, 23rd September, from 7:30pm to 10pm at our new venue, the Holly Bush (22 Hollymount, Hampstead, London NW3 6SG – map).
The meeting will take place in the Romney Room, which is accessed by entering the ground-floor bar and going up the stairs. Pub staff will be on hand to help point you in the right direction!
Since this is our first event in this new room, it will simply be a social chess evening, with no special tournament or agenda. We’re hoping that meeting in a pub – particularly a listed historic building like this one! – will foster a social atmosphere and provide an enjoyable return to over-the-board events for many!
All are welcome at this event, whether you are already a club member or are only considering joining.
The main lighting in the Romney Room is a little dim, and we’re exploring ways of augmenting it. We thank you in advance for your patience as we experiment, and would welcome your suggestions!
